Zzzzz....I miss you!

Modern day life style makes our sleep life terrible. There are lot of things to do and there's only 24 hours in a day. And most of us start using your phones and tablets in the bed, as if we never checked it at least once during the day. Gone are the days where people slept before 10:00 pm. And staying till 11:00 pm or 11:30 pm was considered very very late. Nowadays 1:00 am or 2:00 am is nothing but another hour in the clock. I see it every other night.

So what happened to us? Why we started to think that sleep is not needed very much? When did things started to take precedence than our health? Blame the changing life style and ever growing technical advancements. TV channels are now providing 30 hours programming and there's a zillion channels/shows/games available anytime you turn on your entertainment devices.

We start accumulating our problems and keep postponing the effort for fixing them. "Let's do it now and sleep later" has become a very common attitude. As long as you can eat, walk, talk we think we are healthy enough. The change needed much now is the attitude towards life & health. For baby boomers, it's a tough ground to break.

The reason why I started to write this post is, I miss "My Sleep". When some new movie/series show up in Netflix, I get this urge to watch it now. After 9:30 pm, time runs like a river and next you see the time it shows 11:30 pm. Wow, so quickly two hours drifted. iPhone's & iPad's are easy to get distracted. Though I check the same statuses and messages in Facebook and twitter, I checked it a few times.  Not to blame my growing toddler, who wakes up past 4:00 am.What a life man? Before computers, I didn't have any problems for sleeping. No late night TV Programs, movies. Once I got a computer, I spent countless hours doing something to be sleepless. From there it started and still continuing.

Nothing is going to change in day one! as more and more things get added up, my sleep is getting far far away. Lets see, If I can fix a little bit of my sleeping routines. Hope there's still HOPE...

To Infinity and Beyond!

I have this great interest in understanding the celestial objects. After settling in a job, I got a lot of resources on the internet to help me understand them. I get questions (from myself) that I find hard to get answered and so far it's been a success. Thanks Wikipedia!

Space is a wonderful thing. the final frontier. SciFi movies are a great inspiration and amazing stuff I get to know. It helps my imagination and understanding of various things about space. Nowadays people learn or know more about space, universe etc., But I still feel the need of these things to be thought in schools with better illustration.

Not many of them know about space-fabric, black holes, galaxies, nebula etc., Talking or reading about them opens my mind in zillion ways. Recently I learned about orbital velocity when I had a question of how satellites and spacecraft travel for a long time and revolve around earth/planets. Sound can't travel in space as there is no air. So it's death silent out there.

And nowadays the topic of mars exploration is getting stronger that I am hearing news about corporations/agencies selecting people for one-way trip to mars etc., To the science part of it, I understand very little. But from a common man's perspective, I can boast that I have more knowledge (or may be not).

Also there's an increasing number of addition to the list of habitable planets (earth like - exoplanets) in other solar systems. Existence of other solar systems itself is a great learning as we always see only one sun everyday! Voyager spacecraft is said that moved out of our solar system into heliosphere. First ever man made object that had traveled that much of a distance.

Space debris - another thing to worry about. There's more debris than satellites in your orbit. There are various theories/plans to clean/collect the space debris.

Wikipedia has more information about everything than anything else in the world and its growing every second we speak of. So friends, put some flame in your mind to understand things like this. these are amazing.

There's no end for knowledge! Keep Exploring...
